A Clock Without Hands is a video installation exploring time, aging, and society’s perceptions of different generations. The project examines the dialogue between younger and older versions of the self and highlights how society often renders older age groups invisible.
The installation features three videos:
Introduction: Focuses on the artist’s grandmother, emphasizing pauses in her speech to symbolize society’s tendency to silence the elderly.
32 and 33: Side-by-side footage of the artist on the day before and day of her 33rd birthday. These videos reflect the subtle, often imperceptible changes between life stages and critique the societal emphasis on age as a marker of significance.
By addressing the fleeting nature of time and aging, the project challenges cultural biases, inviting viewers to reconsider societal constructs of youth and the invisibility of older generations.
